Kushma Bungee Jump

A roughly 228 m leap into the Kali Gandaki gorge near Pokhara — one of the world's tallest bungee jumps.

Address
Kushma, Parbat, Gandaki Province

The Kushma bungee jump is the centrepiece of Nepal's adventure capital: a roughly 228-metre plunge into the Kali Gandaki gorge at Kushma, Parbat, widely billed as the world's second-highest bungee and the tallest in Asia. Launching from a platform slung between the canyon walls, it dwarfs the country's older jump on the Bhote Koshi and has put this once-quiet hill town firmly on the global thrill-seeker map.

The jump

You step out onto a platform fixed over the void, clip into a certified cord and harness, take the briefing from the jump masters — and then there is nothing below you but the river threading through the gorge hundreds of metres down. The free-fall is long and the rebound dramatic, with the steep canyon walls rushing past on both sides. Because the gorge here is so deep, the sensation lasts noticeably longer than at lower jumps, which is exactly what draws record-chasers to Kushma.

Why it is special

The site exploits the Kali Gandaki's extraordinary depth — this river system has carved one of the deepest gorges on Earth between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs. That geography lets operators offer a jump height that few places in the world can match, all reachable on an easy day trip from Pokhara. It sits alongside the giant Kushma canyon swing and the area's record suspension bridges, so the gorge has become a single concentrated adventure zone.

Good to know

  • Cost: Premium, reflecting the height; combo deals with the giant swing save money. Carry enough cash as card facilities can be limited.
  • Health: Declare heart, back, neck or pregnancy conditions; weight and age limits apply.
  • Timing: Morning slots have the calmest air; pre-book in autumn and spring peak season.
  • Watching: Spectating from the platforms is free and a thrill in itself.

Frequently asked questions

How high is the Kushma bungee jump?+

The Kushma bungee drops about 228 metres into the Kali Gandaki gorge. It is widely promoted as the world's second-highest bungee and the tallest in Asia, far higher than the long-established jump at The Last Resort on the Bhote Koshi.

Where is the Kushma bungee?+

It is at Kushma, the headquarters of Parbat district in Gandaki Province, set on a platform slung between cliffs over the Kali Gandaki gorge. Kushma lies roughly two-and-a-half to three hours by road west of Pokhara.

Is the Kushma bungee safe?+

The site uses engineered platforms, certified cords and harnesses, with trained jump masters and standard safety briefings. As with any bungee, follow staff instructions, declare health conditions and never jump under the influence of alcohol.

Can you combine the bungee with the swing?+

Yes. Operators at Kushma offer combo packages that pair the bungee with the giant canyon swing, often at a lower combined price than booking each separately. Many visitors do both on the same day over the gorge.
